New ED Entrance - University AveNew entrance from University Avenue provides direct, 24-hour access to the Emergency Department

Construction may be underway as part of our Renew Sinai redevelopment initiative, but our Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre remains open to deliver care and positive experiences to our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A new entrance from University Avenue is now open to provide direct, 24-hour access to the emergency department, by the two passenger drop-off spots on University Avenue just north of the emergency driveway.

In addition, patients, visitors and staff can access the emergency department through:

  • The main hospital entrance on University Avenue (6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
  • The EMS and patient entrance along the west side of the emergency driveway (accessible any time of day)
  • The Murray Street entrance (24-hour access). Parking is available on Murray Street, across the street from the hospital.

Directional signage is available to direct patients, visitors and staff to hospital entrances appropriately. See a map of our entrances, drop-offs and walkways here.

Reminder:  The east end of the emergency driveway and former emergency driveway entrance are closed, and the west end of the emergency driveway continues to be restricted to ambulance and police vehicles only.
