Dr. Maureen Shandling

Executive Vice President, Academic & Medical Affairs

A practicing neurologist, Dr. Shandling has been a staff member of Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto since 1988. She has held numerous hospital portfolios including Medical Education, Physician Affairs, Diagnostic Imaging, Accreditation Lead, and Quality and Safety programs. She has leadership experience in clinical teaching, educational administration and research, and program development in quality and safety initiatives.

She is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto where she served as Associate Dean, Student Admissions and Financial Services.

Dr. Shandling has participated in a number of national and international initiatives in medical education and is currently a member of the National Steering Committee of the Future of Medical Education in Canada, Co-Chair of the Transitions to Practice Committee, and a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Subspecialty Committee.

Dr. Shandling is a member of the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario Practice and Education Committee (CAHO), the CAHO ARTIC Task Force, and the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN) Medical Affairs Committee.
