Gerald W. Schwartz, O.C.

Chairman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Onex Corporation

Mr. Schwartz, a native of Winnipeg, Canada, received his B.Comm and LL.B. degrees from the University of Manitoba and his MBA degree from Harvard university. He also holds an LL.D. (Hon.) from five Universities.

He founded Onex in 1984.

Onex (TSX: ONEX) manages and invests capital on behalf of its shareholders and investors from around the world. Onex’ platforms include: Onex Partners, private equity funds focused on mid- to large-cap companies; ONCAP, private equity funds focused on middle market and smaller opportunities; Onex Credit, which manages primarily non-investment grade debt as well public equity and public credit funds; and Gluskin Sheff’s wealth management services. With offices in Toronto, New York, New Jersey, Boston and London, Onex and its experienced management teams are collectively the largest investors across Onex’ platforms. In total Onex’ assets under management are approximately $50 billion, including Onex’ own investing capital.

Mr. Schwartz is, and has been, a Chairman, Director or Governor of a number of civic, philanthropic and business organizations.

In 2004, Mr. Schwartz was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame and in 2006 he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.

He is married to Heather Reisman, Chief Executive of Indigo Books, has four children and nine grandchildren.
