Senator, Canadian Author and Journalist

Linda Frum is an accomplished writer and journalist. She is a best-selling author, former contributing editor to Maclean’s and former columnist with the National Post. She is also a Gemini-Award winning documentarian. Linda has served on many distinguished community boards, including the Board of Upper Canada College where she served as Vice-Chair.

In 2009, Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed Linda to the Senate to represent the Province of Ontario. She currently sits as a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources as well as the Standing Committee on Transport and Communications. She was previously a member of the Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce.

In 2012, Minister Jason Kenney appointed Linda Co-Chair of the Advisory Council for the 2013 Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research. In 2013, Minister Rona Ambrose appointed her to sit as a member of an advisory council of industry leaders to effectively promote the participation of women on corporate boards across Canada.

Educated at McGill University, she received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Yeshiva University in 2010. Linda is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and was also inducted into the Havergal College Hall of Distinction and received the Rothschild Humanitarian Award from Shaare Zedec.
