Joanna Rotenberg is President of Personal Investing at Fidelity Investments, Inc., leading one of the largest and most successful retirement, brokerage and wealth management businesses in the financial services industry.

Prior to her role at Fidelity, Joanna spent over a decade at BMO Financial Group as a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.  Most recently, she was Group Head, BMO Wealth Management, providing retail and institutional clients with a range of wealth management, asset management and insurance solutions. Since joining BMO in 2010, Joanna also acted as BMO’s Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Strategy. In that role, she helped guide BMO’s strategic decisions globally, brought BMO’s brand and marketing efforts to life through innovative campaigns, and built out BMO’s digital and analytic capabilities.

Prior to joining BMO, Joanna was a Partner with McKinsey & Company and a leader in McKinsey’s North American financial services practice, serving clients in wealth and asset management, banking, and insurance. She also led McKinsey’s North American retirement and consumer research initiatives.

Joanna is active within the Toronto community. She serves as Treasurer to the Board of Directors of Sinai Health System, acted as the 2020 Chair of the Major Individual Gifts Cabinet for United Way of Greater Toronto and is a member of the Rotman Dean’s Advisory Board at the University of Toronto.

Joanna has been named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network, and was selected as a Women in Capital Markets Champion of Change for her leadership in actively driving positive change for diversity and inclusion. For an unprecedented ten years in a row, American Banker’s editors also selected Joanna and the BMO team of female leaders to win a Most Powerful Women in Banking and Finance Top Team Award.

Joanna received her combined JD/MBA degree with distinction from the University of Toronto, and an Arbour Award for her service to UofT. Joanna received her BA with distinction from the University of Western Ontario, where she received the Chancellor’s Award. She is also a member of the New York Bar.
