This week marks Sinai Health System’s third anniversary and the release of one of our most important priorities to date – our People Plan.
Over our first three years, we have achieved many milestones as a System – from early integration stages, to the development of care pathways for palliative and orthopaedic patients, and of course our achievement last year of Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada.
Reflecting on these early wins, what is clear is that none of these accomplishments would have been possible without you. Which is why, as we enter our fourth year, having a clear plan that outlines how we are going to lead, engage, support and develop our employees, learners, physicians, scientists and volunteers is one of the most important investments we can make in our future.
At Sinai Health, our commitment to our patients and family caregivers is to deliver exceptional and safe, high-quality care. To fulfill that commitment we must ensure that you are cared for whether you are at the bedside, supporting front-line care, or you are performing any of the countless activities that our people do at Sinai Health. Under the leadership of Susan Brown, our Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources team and many departments across Sinai Health have worked collaboratively to create our People Plan. This document spells out our aims and priorities with the purpose of creating and maintaining a workplace environment and culture that supports everyone who walks through our doors.
A few months ago in this same space, I had the opportunity to reflect on my first full year as your President and CEO. In that interview, I mentioned that I think that there is no better place to work. The creation and commitment to advance our People Plan is essential to making that statement true for every one of you.
