Earlier this week, we hosted the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Dr. Eric Hoskins at Mount Sinai where he announced a significant investment that will open 2,000 additional beds across Ontario. These new beds will increase access and reduce wait times during the busy flu season. As part of this announcement, Sinai Health will receive funding to open as many as 24 additional beds at Bridgepoint.
“Every day, our clinicians work to provide the highest level of care to our patients at the right time and in the right care setting, whether that’s acute care for our sickest patients, or rehabilitation and home care,” said Dr. Gary Newton, President and CEO. “This new investment will help patients who no longer require acute care to be safely transferred to the setting that is best suited to their clinical needs. We welcome this initiative and the collaborative approach to developing solutions for strengthening care in our province.”
