Patients and their families gathered on the Labyrinth Terrace for Bridgepoint’s Patient and Family BBQ on August 23rd. The event has been an annual tradition for more than 20 years. Staff members from all areas of the hospital worked together to serve up delicious burgers as guests enjoyed live music.
“It is our pleasure to continue a long-standing tradition of hosting the barbecue for our patients and their family and friends each year,” says Jennifer Ridgway, Professional Practice Lead for Therapeutic Recreation and the lead organizer of the barbecue. “We recognize that this may have been a difficult summer for many requiring a stay in hospital. Our hope is that enjoying a meal together outside on a patio provides an opportunity to participate in a common summer activity. I want to thank all of our staff, volunteers and members of the organizing committee for their hard work. Team work is essential in order to host these successful events.”
