Philanthropist and former board member Murray Koffler has died at the age of 93. Today’s Toronto Star story includes Mr. Koffler’s significant contribution to Sinai Health System, including the support he provided to  Murray Koffler Urologic Wellness Centre and the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre.

“Murray always wanted to help us find ways to make the patient’s journey better – he was a compassionate, creative and strategic leader and the care that we provide to patients in those centres is reflective of the standard of care he wanted to support,” says Brent Belzberg, Chair of the Board, Sinai Health System.

“We wish his family strength during this difficult time and hope that they can find some comfort in knowing the difference that he made in patient’s lives. He will be missed,” added Dr. Gary Newton, President and CEO, Sinai Health System.
