In just one month, with a lot of hard work and dedication to getting the word out, 557 donors at Sinai Health raised over $85,000, and reached a historic 12.5% of our people giving to the United Way, a drastic increase from last year’s participation level of 2%.

“We wanted to aim high for this campaign,” said Dr. Gary Newton, President and CEO at Sinai Health, and one of the executive sponsors of the United Way campaign. “I am incredibly proud of the way everyone came together to help extend the care we give to our patients after they leave our hospitals. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve next year.”

This year’s staff giving campaign included a bake sale at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare which raised $500, the CN Tower climb, where two teams, one with members from across Sinai Health and one made up of members from Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, raised $3200. Our final wrap-up parties at both Mount Sinai and Bridgepoint included a gingerbread house decorating contest with almost 30 entries, raising an additional $300 for the United Way.

Co-chair of the campaign, Agnes Tong says that she is “beyond thrilled to see such an amazing response to the campaign.” Co-Chair Kathleen Reid adds “we are already hearing about people’s great ideas for events for our 2019 campaign.”

A huge thanks goes out to everyone who donated and helped us meet and exceed our ambitious goal, all of the members of the steering committee, as well as all of our ambassadors who helped spread the word about why supporting the United Way is so important to us at Sinai Health. Until next year, check out some of the pictures from our wrap-up parties at both Bridgepoint and Mount Sinai.
