The patient and family BBQ has been a summer tradition at Bridgepoint for more than 20 years. Over 480 patients, families and friends came together to enjoy great music, delicious food and each other’s company.

“I would like to thank the organizing committee and all of the staff and volunteers for their efforts in making this year’s BBQ yet another big success,” says Mary Watkins, Professional Practice Leader for Therapeutic Recreation. “These types of large events would not be possible without the time and effort of an incredible team!”

Here is what our patients and their families had to say about the event:

“It was beautiful. My daughter, granddaughter, my husband and me all loved it. We all enjoyed it! This place is amazing. The staff, the people, the programs. Everyone and everything is amazing about this place.”  – Ms. Resendes (wife of patient Mr. Resendes)

“BBQ’s find this way to bring together the nutritious aspect of eating, but it also brings people together in a social aspect with your friends and people.” Kevin Courrier, patient

“The BBQ was very well coordinated. They had arranged for it to be outside, however due to weather it had to be moved inside and in a blink of an eye everyone was helped inside. I couldn’t believe how everyone all ate on time and the patients, like my husband who had dialysis were all served on time and brought back to the unit on time for dialysis. I heard nothing but positive feedback from everyone.” – Joe Samuels, patient and his wife, Angie Samuels
