Founder and President of Jillcy Investments Ltd.
Joel Reitman is the founder and president of Jillcy Capital ULC a global investment firm. He co-founded advertising company MIJO Corporation and served as its president and Chief Executive Officer from 1978 until March 2011, when the firm was sold to DG Fast Channel.
Joel is a co-founder of The Cyril & Dorothy, Joel & Jill Reitman Centre for Alzheimer’s Support and Training at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a member of the steering committee for the Tanz Centre for research in neurodegenerative diseases at Toronto Western Hospital.
Joel is an active volunteer in the Jewish Community. He has a long history of involvement with the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee (CJPAC) as National Chair from 2009 – 2011. Joel has also served as Chair of the Local Partnership Committee (LPC) for the Toronto Jewish Federation and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA). Joel is now serving as National Co-Chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) as well as a Vice President of World Jewish Congress.
In 2013 Joel was awarded the Jewish Federation of Canada – UIA CHAI Award in recognition of his dedication to strengthening Jewish life and Jewish identity in Canada, Israel and throughout the world. He was also presented with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2013.
Joel received his Bachelor of Science and Educational Communication from Ithaca College. He is a graduate of Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts.
